JAMMU, Feb 20: Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary  Vikram Malhotra has criticized the present Administration and the JMC authorities for ignoring the issues of general public.
Referring to the issues which people from various wards brought to his notice, the Congress leader   from Jammu East said that all the development works undertaken earlier have been stalled in Jammu East. The works of lanes and drains have been abandoned and even no proper sanitation activities are being performed in various wards. The people are facing lot of problems.
He alleged after the formation of PDP-BJP Government most of the works in Jammu East came to stand still. The condition further deteriorated after the  sudden demise of the then Chief Minister, Mufti Mohd Sayeed in January last. He said many streets have been uprooted in every nook and corner of the Jammu East Constituency due to which people are facing huge difficulty.
The JMC has also stopped its activities of  constructing/ repairing lanes and drains.  There is no street light in many areas and damaged lights have not been replaced.
The PCC leader also flayed the JMC authorities for adopting different yardsticks in assigning the works to the contractors.  He urged the concerned corporation not to take them as far-granted and shun this wrong approach otherwise they will be forced to launch an agitation and consequences thereupon would be the responsibility of the JMC.
