Malhotra for improving healthcare facilities

SRINAGAR, May 25: With a view to discuss public importance issues and their immediate redressal through concerned departments, the Chairman Legislative Council Amrit Malhotra conveyed General Purpose Committee Members meeting here today.
The Committee besides other important issues discussed recent deaths of infants in G. B. Pant Hospital.
The members expressed their concern on this incident and urged that Government should take all possible measures to improve the healthcare facilities in the Hospital. They also stressed for taking strict action against diligent official, who play with the lives of kids.
Mr. Malhotra while underscoring the need for improving healthcare and other basic facilities across the State, stressed upon the concerned departments to pay focused towards delivering quality facilities, which Government has kept available for the people of the State.
The Chairman urged the Committee members to take up issues of public importance with the concerned quarters for action.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chairman Legislative Council M. Y. Taing and members Naresh Kumar Gupta, Ghulam Qadir Pardesi, Secretary Legislative Council, M. A. Mir, Deputy Secretary Mohammad Maqbool Bhat and other senior officers of Council Secretariat.
