Malik takes stock of people’s problems

REASI, Dec 11:  To redress the problems of people of hilly and far off areas, the Minister for Higher Education, Labour & Employment, Abdul Gani Malik  paid a 3-day visit to remote areas of district Reasi today.
During first day of his tour the Minister for Higher Education convened a public grievances camp at Kanthi in block Arnas of district Reasi.
After going through the problems being faced by the locals, Mr. Malik said that various development programmes and employment schemes have already been launched by the Government for the benefit of the people. He stressed upon the public in general and labour community in particular to come forward to avail the benefits  of these welfare scheme.
Addressing a well attended public grievances camp at village Kanthi, Mr. Malik said that Coalition Government is making every effort to eradicate poverty from every nook and corner of the State, adding several schemes have been launched to upgrade the socio-economic condition of the people especially those living in inaccessible areas of the State.
During his visit, the Minister reviewed the status of construction work of steel girder bridge over Suuch Nallaha being constructed by the PWD and asked the officers to gear up the tempo of work for its timely completion.   He disclosed in the camp that the work of on Micro hydro Power Project of 45 MW on Hans Nallaha at village Nandolli in the district is going to start soon which would redress the power shortage besides providing employment opportunity to the unemployed local of the area. He also assured that a Public Health Center and a High School would be provided at village Khanthi which would add the facility of health care and education at their door step.
