JAMMU, Mar 6: Dr Vishal Sharma, Head of the Electronics Department at Govt MAM College here has joined the prestigious Fulbright-Kalam Climate Postdoctoral Fellowship at US Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL).
Hailing from a remote town of Basohli in district Kathua, Dr. Vishal is son of Kanta Devi and late Shruti Paul Sharma.
He will be working at the Centre for Atmospheric Processing, NREL to explore potential scalable methods for industrial scale production of lightweight and flexible solar cell devices which could be useful for future space explorations and to power future space stations by the space agencies like NASA, ISRO etc.
Dr. Vishal has done Ph.D on Solar Photovoltics from Delhi University and had the opportunity to visit UK under Commonwealth Fellowship.
He was also awarded with the title of ‘Visiting Academician’ by University of Sheffield, UK. He has also received many awards at the national and international levels.
