Man accused of murder transferred from Gujarat to face charges in Jammu

JAMMU, May 29: A man from Uttar Pradesh, who was wanted in a 2016 murder case by Domana Police here, was transferred to Jammu from a Gujarat jail to face charges.
As per police sources, on December 22, 2016, a dead body of one lady namely Asha Devi, wife of Mahavir Singh of District Aligarh Uttar Pradesh, at present Vishal Nagar Talab Tillo Jammu was found in a nallah at Saini Mohalla Gole Gujaral here.
Taking cognizance of the incident, a case under FIR Number 387/2016 under Section 302 RPC was registered at Police Station Domana and investigation was taken up.
During the investigation, it was found out to be a sensational murder committed by the accused person namely Arjun Singh Yadav, son of Fattu Singh Yadav of District Aligarh Uttar Pradesh and a manhunt was launched to nab him. The accused person was at large since 5 years as he left J&K soon after committing the crime.
Domana Police collaborated with various agencies and police of the other States of the country and finally the accused person namely Arjun Singh Yadav was found out to be lodged in Central Jail Ahmedabad Gujarat in case FIR Number 1-135/2018 under Sections 396 and 346 of IPC (Dacoity with murder) of Police Station Bavla Gurajat.
Domana police took up the matter with the jail authorities of Central Jail Ahmedabad Gujarat and the custody of the said accused person has been successfully transferred to Police Station Domana.
With the arrest of the accused person, the blind murder case has been solved by the Domana Police after 5 years.
The team who did hectic efforts for transfer of custody from Ahmedabad jail to Jammu jail was led by Incharge Police Post Pouni Chak SI Dilawer Kumar under the supervision of SHO Domana Inspector Mahesh Sharma, SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul, SP Rural Sanjay Sharma and SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli.
