Man, animals charred to death

SRINAGAR, Oct 8: A man along with several animals was charred to death in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
A police spokesman said fire broke out in a Kotha belonging to Noor Mohammad Bujran, a resident of Nagbal at Gulab Jadi Behak village of Shopian, resulting in damage to the Kotha.
“In this incident, the owner of the Kotha along with a horse, four cows, three calves and five sheep came under the debris of the Kotha and expired. The body of the deceased was recovered from the debris and handed over to his legal heirs for last rites,” he said.
The spokesman said the fire broke out in a joint residential house of Ishfaq Ahmad Chichi and Noor Bibi, residents of Lassan Nar in Kangan area of Ganderbal district, resulting in damage to the house.
