Man arrested with banned syrup, intoxicants

JAMMU, July 4: Police arrested a person along with banned syrup bottles and intoxicant capsules from Langar village, falling under the jurisdiction of Gangyal police station.
As per police sources, on specific information, cops from Gangyal police station raised a naka near Langar village and intercepted a pedestrian, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
On seeing police cops, the man tried to escape but the cops chased and nabbed him.
During checking, police recovered 98 bottles of banned syrup and 96 intoxicant capsules and arrested the person.
The accused has been identified as Sukhpreet Singh, son of Amrik Singh, a resident of Ambica Colony, Kunjwani.
A case under FIR Number 68/16 under Section 8/21/22 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against the accused with police station Gangyal and investigations started.
A team headed by SHO Gangyal Inspector Aijaz Wani made the arrest under the supervision of SPDO South Sachin Gupta and SP South Shaazad Salaria.
