UDHAMPUR, Dec 14: Police today arrested a person for abetting a girl to commit suicide by setting herself ablaze.
Police spokesman said that, based on information regarding the burn case of a girl at Ramnagar, an inquest was initiated by Police Station Ramnagar.
During the course of investigation, police recorded the statement of the victim’s mother, who stated that Sanjay Kumar, alias Tinku, son of Govind Ram of Marta, Ramnagar used to tease and harass her daughter, resulting the girl set herself ablaze and later died, spokesman said.
After recoding the statement, police started manhunt and at last arrested the accused person today, he added.
In this connection a case under FIR number 156/12 under Section 306 RPC stands registered at Police Station Ramnagar and further investigation started.
