JAMMU, Nov 29: A man has been arrested for assaulting a Special Police Officer (SPO) of District Special Branch (DSB) Jammu.
As per police sources, a SPO of DSB team during search of suspected drug peddlers was assaulted by a man identified as Bharat Kapahi, son of Darshan Kapahi of Malhotra Street near Kanak Mandi.
The SPO identified as Mohammad Iqbal (47), son of Lal Din, a resident of Khatika Talab received injuries in the assault and was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu for treatment.
On getting information about the incident, a team from Police Station City led by SHO Inspector Joginder Singh Chib conducted raid and arrested the accused Bharat Kapahi.
A case under FIR Number 62/2020 under Sections 341, 353 and 506 IPC has been registered at Police Station City against the arrested accused and investigation started.
