JAMMU, Mar 20: Akhnoor police arrested a man for raping a mentally disturbed girl.
As per police sources, yesterday family members of a girl lodged a compliant with Police Station Akhnoor stating that a person identified as Shallu, son of Kala, a resident of Badgal raped their mentally disturbed daughter.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 55/18 under Section 376, 341 and 323 RPC was registered at Akhnoor Police Station and the accused has been arrested within 24 hours.
The girl has been handed over to family members after conducting medical examination.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by SI Sandeep Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Akhnoor Inspector Sukhdev Singh, SDPO Rural Munish Kumar and SP Rural Shivdeep Singh Jamwal.
