JAMMU, Apr 25: Phallain Mandal police arrested a man along with illicit liquor pouches.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from police post Phallain Mandal laid a surprise naka at Haripur and intercepted a person.
During checking, police recovered 36 pouches of illicit liquor from the possession of the man and nabbed him on the spot.
The bootlegger has been identified as Bachater Singh, son of Shankanu Ram of Malkay Chack, Phallain Mandal.
He was carrying the illicit liquor pouches to his native village for selling among the masses for illegitimate profits.
A case under FIR Number 68/16 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at police station Satwari and further investigation into the case is going on.
