JAMMU, Apr 26: Chinore police arrested a man along with large quantity of illicit liquor pouches from Nardani area.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Chinore police post laid a naka near Nardani and asked a pedestrian to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the persons tried to escape from the spot, but the cops chased and nabbed him.
During checking, police recovered 52 pouches of illicit liquor from the possession of the person and arrested him.
The accused has been identified as Rash Pal Chand, son of Ram Saran, a resident of Malpur Nardani.
He was carrying the illicit liquor to his native village for selling among the masses for illegitimate profits.
A case under FIR Number 118/16 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at Chinore police post and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Chinore police post SI Vikram Manhas made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Domana Inspector Rajeshwar Singh, SDPO Domana Surinder Sharma and SP Rural Arun Gupta.
