Man arrested in attempt to murder case, restricting cops from performing duty

JAMMU, Aug 6: Kanachack Police conducted an anti-encroachment drive in Kalase Chak near Marh. However, a man has been arrested in attempt to murder case and restricting cops from performing their legitimate duty.
As per police sources, a team from Police Station Kanachack led by SHO Inspector Kunal Singh Jamwal launched anti-encroachment drive in Kalase Chak area near Marh.
During the drive on the State land, a lady identified as Jannu Bibi, wife of Baru Din started restricting the drive by throwing her children before the JCB. She also set her hutment on fire and also tried to throw inside it.
The cops however rescued the children and shifted them to safer place.
Later, a man identified as Aman Choudhary also reached the spot and threatened the cops of setting himself ablaze. He entered into scuffle and instigated the women to level false allegation over the cops. However, police arrested him and shifted him to Police Station.
A case under Sections 307, 309, 353, 436, 186, 504, 506 and 34 IPC has been registered against the arrested person at Police Station Kanachack and investigation started. Some more arrests are likely to be made in the case during the investigation.
Later, the encroached state land was also retrieved.
