JAMMU, Mar 3: A man of 40 years allegedly attempted to rape a minor girl of 12 years in area falling under the jurisdiction of Mira Sahib police station.
The alleged accused, identified as Gurmeet Singh alias Lovely, of Railway Patri, Mira Sahib, was absconding after the crime while the victim has been sent for medical examination.
According to Police, the accused allegedly took the girl to an isolated place and tried to rape her.
A case under Section 377 RPC has been registered in this connection.
