JAMMU, Oct 5: Police registered a case against Sarpanch for severally thrashing and beating a person, leading to serious injuries to him.
Police spokesman said that, a case under FIR number 109/ 12 under Sections 341, 323, 336 RPC at Miran Sahib Police Station has been registered against the Sarpanch Balwinder Singh, son of Hazara Singh of Bhau, tehsil RS Pura, for beating Baldev Raj, son of Charan Dass, after intercepting him.
He said that Sarpanch Balwinder Singh has severally thrashed and beat up Baldev Raj with sticks and stones, leading to serious injuries to him.
“Baldev Raj was shifted to Sub District Hospital, RS Pura and was later referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for specialized treatment, from where he was later discharged”, he added.
“Sarpanch wants to grab the land of one Charan Dass at Bishnah, the case of which is lying before Munsif Court, Bishnah”, spokesman said.
Manhunt was launched to arrest the Sarpanch, who was absconding after committing the crime, he added.
