JAMMU, July 25: One person was booked for possessing the banned Chinese kite strings here in Bishnah town of Jammu District on Tuesday.
A police spokesperson said that a party of Police Station Bishnah established a routine naka for checking of vehicles and pedestrians near Petrol Pump Bishnah. At around 1100 hours, he said, the naka checking party signalled a vehicle for checking.
On search of the vehicle, the police spokesperson said that several rolls of Chinese kite strings were recovered from the vehicle.
According they were seized and a case FIR number 175/2023 under section 188 IPC was registered at Police Station Bishnah against the driver of the vehicle identified as Surjeet Singh of Harsa Dabber.
Pertinently, the Chinese kite strings rolls have been banned in Jammu District vide DM Jammu order number DMJ/LO/22-23/8943 dated July 21, 2022.
