RAJOURI, Mar 8: A 55-year old man today committed suicide by pouring kerosene oil at village Nonyal in Nowshera area of district Rajouri today.
A police spokesman said that one S. Jeet Singh, son of S. Isher Singh, resident of Nonyal poured kerosene oil on his body at around 3.30 pm today and set himself on fire. The family members and neighbours tried to douse the fire and rushed him to Nowshera hospital but he succumbed to injuries on the way.
Nowshera police registered a case and started investigation under Section 174 CrPC. The reason behind this extreme step could not be ascertained immediately. Some family feud is believed to be the reason behind this step.
