JAMMU, June 12: A man allegedly committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance in Kanachak area of city outskirts, today.
According to a police official, a migrant labourer from Chattisgarh namely Parmal (50) son of Dilshad, allegedly consumed some poisonous substance this morning at his jhuggi in Tokrian area of Kanachak.
He said the man was immediately taken to Sub District Hospital, Marh, but in view of his serious condition, he was referred to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors.
“After completing all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites”, the police official said, adding, Kanachak police had taken cognizance of the matter.
