UDHAMPUR, July 18: One died after consuming poison under mysterious circumstances near Nanad Palace Dhar road Ward No. 17 here, today.
According to the police, Mohd Iqbal Peer (44), son of Mohd Shabir (Peer) resident of Doda who was presently residing at Saila Talab Ward No. 17 for last eight years died this morning after consuming poison under mysterious circumstances.
Police said this morning about 9am local people saw a man unconscious near his car bearing Registration Number JK02AS-5812. They immediately called the police and Vijay Singh Choudhary SHO, Udhampur rushed to the spot with police team and took the dead body in their custody. Later it was shifted to District Hospital Udhampur for postmortem.
After completion of all the formalities, the body was handed over to family members for burial.
Police has also recovered a suicide note near dead body. It has registered a case under Section 174 IPC and further investigation is going on.
