JAMMU, Sept 12: A farmer allegedly committed suicide in Khour area of Akhnoor today.
“The deceased was identified as Pardeep Kumar (40) son of Bodh Raj, resident of Khour Camp,” a police official said. He said that the man allegedly consumed some poisonous substance at his residence after which he was taken to a nearby Government Hospital from where he was later referred to GMC Jammu.
However, the patient was declared as brought dead in GMC Jammu, the official said, adding, the body was sent for postmortem while inquest proceeding under 174 CrPC was initiated in this connection at police station Khour.
