JAMMU, Aug 8: One person died while another injured after the bike they were riding on was hit by a speeding tanker at Narwal area here, police said.
They said Mohinder Pal, 29 (pillion rider) son of Sham Lal of Bargal, Akhnoor, and Pawan Kumar, 32, son of Puran Chand of Sungal, Akhnoor, sustained injuries after their bike was hit by a tanker near Narwal Chowk area on the intervening nights of August 7-8, resulting in injuries to the duo.
They were taken to Government Medical College Jammu, where one of them, Mohinder Pal, was declared as dead on arrival while as the other injured man is undergoing treatment at the hospital, where his condition is stated to be critical, said police.
A case FIR number 230/2023 under Sections 279, 337, and 304(A) of the IPC has been registered at the concerned police station and further investigation started.
