JAMMU, July 16: An unidentified man appearing to be a beggar died today due to alleged starvation. His body was found today lying along the road in Nagrota area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, the dead body of a beggar aged about 55-60 years was found this afternoon lying along the road near JK Petrol Pump.
He said on getting information, a police team from police station Nagrota led by SHO Daleep Singh reached the spot and shifted the dead body to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, for identification and post mortem.
Quoting locals, the SHO said that the man was sitting at the same place for last two to three days and died due to hunger.
He said we have registered a case in this regard and further investigations are on.
