JAMMU, July 2: A man died today due to electrocution in Pounichak area of city outskirts.
“The deceased was identified as Deglal Mahto (37) son of late Sukar Mahto, resident of Jharkhand,” a police official said, adding he was presently living in Canal Road area of Jammu.
He said that Deglal was working with JPDCL and was engaged in maintenance work at Manoharma Vihar. “As soon as he climbed an electric pole, he received severe electric shock and fell down, resulting into his on the spot death,” he added.
In this connection, inquest proceeding under 174 CrPC was initiated by Pounichak police and body was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for postmortem.
