RAMBAN, Nov 30: In a hit-and-run case, a man was crushed to death by an unknown vehicle in Bowli Bazaar area on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, here.
As per police sources, a man identified as Karan Singh, son of Tara Chand, a resident of Digdol was walking on road side, when an unknown vehicle hit him near Bowli Bazaar area during the intervening night of November 29 and 30. The driver accelerated the vehicle and escaped from the spot.
The profusely bleeding victim was rushed to District Hospital, where he failed to respond to the treatment and succumbed to his injuries.
The body of the victim was handed over to family members for last rites after completing medical and legal formalities.
A case has been registered at Ramban police station and manhunt launched to nab the accused driver.
However, the driver remained at large when last reports were compiled.
