SAMBA, Dec 6: A 28-year-old man died and his wife got critically injured in a road accident in Bishnah area of Jammu district on yesterday evening, officials said.
Sandeep Kumar son of Ved Parkash of Keso Ramgarh and his wife Nisha Devi (25) suffered injuries after the scooty they were riding on was hit by an unidentified vehicle at Chimney Chak area of Bishnah on yesterday evening they said.
They were taken to Community Health Centre Ramgarh, where one of the injured, Sandeep, was declared as dead on arrival while his wife was shifted to Government Medical College Jammu after preliminary treatment at the hospital, officials said.
While the body of the deceased has been handed over to his family members after performing the post-mortem examination at Ramgarh Hospital, the injured is undergoing treatment at the hospital.
A case under the relevant sections of the law has been registered at the concerned police station and further investigation taken up.
