UDHAMPUR, Dec 3: A rashly driven car knocked a person to death and seriously wounded his wife and daughter besides inflicting injuries to another man, who were riding two-wheelers, near head Post office, Dhar Road Udhampur .
According to the police reports, an over speeding Eeco car bearing registration number JK14J-6794, hit two Scooties (JK14D-7121 and JK14H-5081) near Head Post office Dhar Road, resulting into serious injuries to the two-wheeler riders.

Locals and Police rushed to the spot and took the injured persons to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors declared one of them as brought dead.
The deceased was identified as Ajay Kumar Gupta (45), son of Jyoti Parkash Gupta of Ward No. 1, House No 294, Subash Nagar Udhampur. His wife Oma Batra (42) and daughter Kaviya Gupta were referred to GMC Hospital Jammu in view of their serious condition while another Scooty rider Om Parkash (65), son of Paras Ram of Sayal Sallian Udhampur is undergoing treatment at District Hospital Udhampur.
Udhampur Police have arrested driver of the car and registered a case against him under relevant sections of law.
