JAMMU, Oct 9: A man died of drowning in river Chenab near Hasti bridge in district Kishtwar.
As per police sources, Parvez Ahmed (35), son of Azad Hussain of Thakri, district Kishtwar was heading towards his sister’s house in Kuntwara area of district Kishtwar, when his foot slipped near Hasti bridge and he fell into river Chenab.
On getting information, police rushed to the spot and divers were pressed into service to fish out the body.
After hectic efforts, the body of the deceased was fished out and shifted to hospital, where after conducting autopsy, the body was handed over to family members for last rites.
Police has taken the cognizance in this regard.
