UDHAMPUR, July 24: A middle aged man committed suicide by jumping into Tawi River from the bridge near STC, BSF Udhampur, here this evening.
Reports said that Darshan Kumar (58), son of Dina Nath, resident of ward number 3, Ramnagar, jumped into Tawi River near STC, BSF Training Center Udhampur, at about 5:30 pm this evening.
Some locals saw him jumping into the river and immediately called the Police following which SHO Udhampur Raghubir Singh along with his team rushed to the spot fished out dead body of the deceased.
The reason behind committing suicide could not be ascertained while Police have registered a case in this connection for further investigation.
