Man found dead, family alleges murder over ‘land dispute’

JAMMU, May 31: A 75-year-old man was found dead under mysterious circumstances in the Kunjwani area today, with his family alleging that he was murdered by his elder brother and nephew over a land dispute.
The deceased, Bodh Raj Rajwal (75), son of Shankar Dass of Kunjwani, was discovered in his fields. He was immediately taken to Government Medical College Jammu, where he was declared dead on arrival.
Following the death, Rajwal’s family claimed that he was murdered by his elder brother, Puran Chand, and his (Chand’s) son, Chakrya Bharti, due to a long-standing land dispute.
Based on the family’s complaint, the police have detained Puran Chand and Chakrya Bharti, who have been booked under the relevant sections of the law and further investigations have been taken up.
