JAMMU, July 29: The body of a man was found today under mysterious circumstances in a godown of undergarments here at Kanak Mandi.
According to a police spokesperson, the man has been identified as Sanjay Sharma (35) son of Madan Lal, a resident of House No 8, Rajpura Mangotrian. He was working in the godown for last many years.
Quoting his colleagues, the spokesperson said that Sanjay was a habitual drunkard and before going to bed last night here in the godown he drunk excessively. “However, in the morning when the other boy tried to wake him up, he did not respond following which he informed the police”, the spokesperson added.
He said on getting information City police headed by SHO Inspector Shakti Devi, reached the spot and shifted the dead body of the deceased to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where after conducting post mortem it was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites.
A case in this regard has been registered at City police station and inquest proceedings started.
