SRINAGAR, Aug 22 : A man has been found dead in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district with police suspecting role of his relative who has been absconding with his 12-bore rifle.
Police said locals of Nagbal, Chandoosa informed police that body of a man, Javed Ahmad Para son of Ghulam Rasool of Nagbal, Chandoosa, was lying in a nearby maize field.
“The body bore injuries on the buttocks, police said, adding, a case FIR no. 26/2014 under Section 302/RPC was registered and investigation was taken up.
The post mortem of the body revealed the deceased was hit by pellets apparently from a 12-bore rifle and the death of the youth was caused by excessive blood loss, police said.
“During preliminary investigation, it surfaced that the deceased had left last evening with his relative Mohammad Ibrahim Tantray son of Saif u Din of same village to scare away wild animals from the maize fields alongwith a licensed 12 bore gun of the relative,” police said, adding the Tantray has been absconding and police has started a search for him.
