UDHAMPUR, Oct 24: In a blind murder case, a man was found dead under mysterious circumstance at Lakhera Nallah in Basantgarh area, here today.
According to the police, dead body of Puran Chand alias Kewal (42), son of Dina Nath, resident of Uperla Balota Basantgarh, was found in a naked condition in the nallah.
There were injury marks on neck and abdomen of the deceased, which makes it a clear case of murder by some unidentified persons, Police said, adding that preliminary investigations clearly hint that it was a case of murder.
The body was spotted by some locals, who called the police following which a Police team from Police Station Basantgarh, led by SHO Sohan Singh Bandral, under the supervision of SDPO Ramnagar Vishal Manhas, rushed to the spot and shifted the dead body to PHC Basantgarh for the postmortem.
After completion of all the legal formalities, the body was handed over to the family members of the deceased, who was working as a labourer.
In this connection, a case FIR under Section 302 RPC has been registered at Basantgarh Police Station and further investigation was going on.
