JAMMU, Mar 6: A migrant youth allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his temporary residence at Colonel Colony falling under the limits of police post Pounichak.
According to police spokesperson, the youth identified as Mansa Ram (25) son of Parmanand, a resident of UP (at present in a temporary shelter at Colonel Colony, Talab Tillo) hanged himself with an iron bar fixed in the roof of his temporary shelter, this evening.
On getting information from family members, police reached the spot and shifted the dead body of the youth to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, for post mortem.
Though no suicide note was recovered from the spot, the concerned police has registered a case and started investigations.
