JAMMU, Feb 8: In a drive against drug-trafficking, a man was arrested along with poppy straw (bhukki) from Simble Morh area, falling under the jurisdiction of Miran Sahib police station.
As per police sources, police team from Miran Sahib police station intercepted a pedestrian near Simble Morh on suspicious ground.
During checking, police recovered 400 grams of poppy straw and arrested the accused, who has been identified as Harbans Singh alias Sandhu, son of Jain Singh, a resident of Simble.
A case under FIR Number 24/15 under Section 8/15 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Miran Sahib police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Miran Sahib police station SI Mohammad Iqbal Chagatta made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Devinder Singh, SP Headquarters Randhir Singh and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
