Man held for printing fake ID cards

SRINAGAR, Feb 11: Police today arrested a man for printing fake identity cards in Dhobiwan of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district while seizing several gadgets from his shop.
As per officials, on specific information regarding printing and designing of fake identity cards of different departments, a shop by the name ‘Speed Print’ located at Barzullah stop Dhobhiwan was raided.
The person who is operating the shop has been identified as Javeed Ahmad Malik S/o Assadullah Malik R/o Barzullah Dhobhiwan Kunzer and has been arrested.
The police raided the shop during which a monitor, printer and a CPU were seized. The officials said that the preliminary investigation revealed that the accused has issued I-cards to different persons with different names, promoting impersonation.
Moreover, police said, scanned seals were also found in the CPU that was seized and might have been widely misused.
In this regard, police have registered a case FIR No.09/21 under Section 420/467 IPC and investigation has been started. The accused has been arrested.
