Man held with 150 banned Chinese thread rolls

JAMMU, Aug 28: One person was arrested with 150 banned Chinese thread rolls from Narwal area of the District today.
A police spokesperson said that acting on a tip-off regarding the sale of banned synthetic threads in a shop at Transport Nagar area, a team of Police Post Narwal led by SDPO East, Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafari assisted by SHO Bahu Fort, Inspector Shiv Dev Singh and incharge Police Post Narwal, SI Lalit Sharma, raided the suspected area and rounded up one person who was found selling the synthetic threads. He was identified as Vijay Kumar of Ramgarh.
Accordingly, he said, police recovered from his possession 150 Chinese threads being sold in violation of an order issued by DM Jammu.
Police have arrested the accused and booked him in case FIR number 259/2023 under Section 188 of the CrPC registered at Police Station Bahu Fort. Further investigation is underway.
