JAMMU, Aug 4: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Bathindi area have arrested an individual with 20 grams of heroin-like-substance.
A police official said that during routine patrolling duty at Malik Market NHW, a team of Police Post Bathindi noticed one person trying to flee suspiciously on seeing the police.
On this, he said, a party successfully overpowered the suspected individual and detained him for questioning.
On inquiry, he identified himself as Ravi Kumar (47) of Baag Phool Chand, Ferozpur, Punjab, said the police official.
He said during the personal search of the suspect, 20 grams of heroin-like-substance was recovered.
According he was arrested and booked in case FIR Number 183/2024 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and further investigation taken up.
Pertinently, the arrest and seizure was made by the police team under the supervision of SDPO City East assisted by SHO Bahu Fort and SI Shakil Ahmed, incharge Police Post Bathindi under the overall supervision of SP City South and SSP Jammu.
