Man held with illicit liquor

JAMMU, Dec 27: Police arrested a man along with large quantity of illicit liquor pouches from Jadh Morh area, falling under the jurisdiction of Jourian police post.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Jourian police post laid a naka at Jadh Morh and intercepted a pedestrian.
During checking, police recovered 95 pouches of illicit liquor and arrested the accused, who has been identified as Bhupinder Singh alias Polu, son of Surinder Singh of Jadh.
He was carrying the illicit liquor pouches to his native village for sale among the people on exorbitant rates.
A case under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered against the accused at Akhnoor police station and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Jourian police post SI Sukhbir Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Akhnoor Inspector Pushpinder Singh, SDPO Akhnoor Naresh Singh, SP Rural Rajeev Pandey and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
