Man held with illicit liquor

RAJOURI, Apr 16: Continuing its efforts against manufacturing and sale of illicit liquor, the police arrested one person and recovered illicit liquor at Jungrial village of Teryath in Rajouri district.
Official sources said that a police party from PP Teryath led by ASI Bhan Singh was on routine patrolling in Jungrial area of Teryath when they noticed a person who attempted to evade the police party in suspicious circumstances. He was apprehended and on search, around four litres of illicit liquor, meant for sale among locals of the area, was recovered from his possession.
The accused person was identified as Sham Singh, son of Daya Ram, a resident of Jangrial. A case FIR No. 42 u/s 48(a) of the Excise Act has been registered at Police Station, Dharamsal in this connection. The accused was arrested and further investigation initiated.
