JAMMU, Aug 9: Police arrested a man along with large quantity of intoxicant tablets from Maralian area, falling under the jurisdiction of Miran Sahib police station.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Miran Sahib laid a naka at Maralian and asked a pedestrian to stop as he was moving under suspicious circumstances.
On seeing police team, the man escaped from the spot, but was chased and finally nabbed by the active cops of Miran Sahib police.
During checking, police recovered 285 intoxicant tablets and arrested the man on the spot.
The accused has been identified as Rattan Lal, son of Amaranth Sharma of Village Khour, Miran Sahib.
A case under FIR Number 127/15 under Section 8/21/22 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against the accused at police station Miran Sahib and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Miran Sahib police station SI Hilal Azhar made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Harjeet Singh, SP Headquarters Randheer Singh and Incharge SSP Jammu Rajiv Pandey.
