Man injured in gun fire

SAMBA, May 13: A villager was injured after a licensed country made gun went off at village Sanoora near Ghagwal in district Samba late last evening.
Giving details a police spokesman said that the incident took place at around 8.30 pm when one Gian Chand alias Bitta, son of Arjun Singh of Sanoora was loading the rifle. Due to mishandling of the weapon at his house, the gun went off, causing serious injuries to Gian Chand (40) on his left arm.
The family members rushed him to Samba hospital where doctors provided first aid then referred him to GMC Hospital Jammu late night.
Ghagwal police after coming to know about the incident reached the spot and then Samba Hospital. It seized the weapon and started investigation. The police said that this gun was country made, filled with raw explosive mixed with pellets to kill birds (Kalmuyans). This man is hunter and was planning to go nearby forests this morning for hunting.
