Man injured in leopard attack

JAMMU, Oct 14: A 50-year-old man was injured in a leopard attack in Reasi district, where Army troops rescued him.
Mohd Kasim was attacked by a leopard, while he was grazing his cattle in the meadows on the fringes of Kote Budhan forest near Lancha in Goold tehsil of Reasi district today, PRO Defence, Northern Command said.
“Kasim shouted for help which was heard by an Army patrol party nearby. The soldiers immediately rushed and scared the Leopard away. Then the forest officials were informed immediately”, he said.
The injured man was evacuated to the Medical Inspection Room of the Army at Lancha where he was administered life saving first-aid and subsequently evacuated to the Government hospital at Gool, he said.
His family members expressed their gratitude and appreciated the efforts of the Army for the noble deed, he said.
The troops of Rashtriya Rifles (RR) battalion rescued a man who was attacked by a leopard at Kote Budhan forest near Lancha, he said.
