SRINAGAR, Dec 12: A man was killed after an unidentified assailant slit his throat this evening in Behrampora village of north Kashmir’s Sopore in Baramulla district.
A police officer told Excelsior that Ghulam Muhammad Tantray, who sells snacks on a cart, was attacked by unidentified assailants after some altercation. “Two to three persons had some altercation with him and one of them slit his throat with a knife leaving him in a pool of blood,” the officer said, adding that he breathed his last in Sopore hospital.
Soon after the incident, a posse of police including Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Rafiabad Shabir Khan rushed to the spot and took stock of the situation. Though a case has been registered but assailants could not be identified.
