JAMMU, Nov 7: One person was killed late last night in collision of a truck and a tipper at Bathera on Jammu-Akhnoor Road.
According to police sources, a truck bearing registration number JK02AU-9371 driven by Mohd Shafi son of Mohd Sakhi, resident of Mahore, while on its way from Jammu to Akhnoor collided with a tipper (bearing registration number JK11D-4455) coming from opposite side, at Bathera.
They said in the mishap, conductor of the truck namely Mohd Shafeeq son of Mohd Ashraf, resident of Jamslan (Reasi), died on the spot while driver of the tipper fled from the spot leaving behind his vehicle.
“The dead body was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu and after getting conducted postmortem today, it was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites,” sources said, adding, a case FIR number 159/2021 U/S 279/304 (a) of IPC was registered in this connection and investigation started.
