JAMMU, Apr 8: A man was killed while three others including a woman were injured in road accidents here today.
As per police sources, a man identified as Surinder Kumar, son of Gathi Ram of Kalyana Partly Arnia was killed on the spot after hit by an oil tanker near Main Stop Gandhi Nagar.
After conducting autopsy at GMCH Jammu, the body of the deceased was handed over to family members for last rites.
A case under FIR Number 92/2021 under Sections 279 and 304 IPC has been registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and driver of tanker identified as Maqsood Ahmed, a resident of Qazi Morh district Poonch has been arrested.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Meanwhile, a woman identified as Manki Devi (40), a resident of Channi Rama was seriously injured after being hit by a car near Narwal.
The lady has been shifted to GMCH Jammu, where her condition was stated to be critical, when last reports came in.
Bhatindi Police has taken cognizance in this regard.
However, a youth was injured when the motorcycle he was riding was hit by a bus near Bomal area of Akhnoor.
The injured identified as Aman Sharma (20), son of Manohar Lal of Bomal Tehsil Akhnoor was rushed to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Akhnoor and later referred to GMCH Jammu, where his condition was stated to be critical, when last reports poured in.
Akhnoor Police has taken cognizance in this regard.
In another accident, a man identified as Bilal Ahmed (28), son of Mohammad Yousuf of Rajeev Nagar was injured after a car hit him near Sunjwan Morh late tonight.
The injured was rushed to GMCH Jammu, where he was undergoing treatment, when last reports came in.
Bhatindi Police has taken cognizance in this regard.
