JAMMU, May 8: A bicycle-borne unidentified man was today knocked to death by a bus in Gandhi Nagar area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, an unknown man of age about 35-40 years was tonight killed on the spot when the bicycle on which he was travelling was hit by a J&K SRTC bus bearing registration number JK02Y- 0444 at Gandhi Nagar near Petrol Pump.
He said that the body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for identification and post mortem.
“A case in this connection was registered at police station Gandhi Nagar and the bus involved in the accident seized while efforts were on to nab the accused bus driver, who managed to escape from the spot leaving behind the vehicle”, the spokesman added.
