Man murdered, 3 hurt during bloody group clash

RAJOURI, July 19: One persons was killed while three others injured during a bloody group clash in Sunderbani area of district Rajouri last mid night.
A police spokesman said that family members of Tara Chand and Jia Lal had a group clash over an old land dispute at village Tanda Saleri in Tehsil Sunderbani at around 11.30 pm last night. Both sides freely exchanged lathis and sharp edged weapons and also indulged in stone pelting on each other.
55-year-old Jia Lal, son of Balak Ram, received injury on his head with some lethal weapon and he fell down on the ground. He was rushed to Sunderbani hospital at around 12.15 pm where he was declared as broguht dead by the doctors. Three other injured, Subash Chander, son of Jia Lal and Shakuntla Devi, wife of Jia Lal were removed to Sunderbani hospital where doctors referred them to GMC&H, Jammu. Banto Devi, wife of Tara Chand was under going treatment in Sunderbani hospital.
Police sources said that Balak Ram had given some of his land to his daughter at Saleri and for the last several years both the families of his daughter and son Jia Lal were fighting over the land dispute. They were also contesting a case in the Revenue department. Late night, both sides had tiff which was later converted into the bloody clash, taking life of the son of Balak Ram. The police has arrested Tara Chand and his son, Romesh Kumar, who is Government teacher for the murder of Jia Lal. Further investigation was in progress.
