JAMMU, June 9: A 45-year-old woman was allegedly killed by her husband over some family dispute in Miran Sahib area of city outskirts.
“The couple had a fight over some trivial issue this afternoon following which the husband, Rashpal Singh alias Pappu, lost his temper and hit his wife namely Sudesh Kumari alias Poli on her head with a log”, said SHO, police station Miran Sahib, Inspector Ajit Singh.
He said Sudesh Kumari suffered critical head injuries and died on the spot. On getting information, police reached the spot and shifted the body to Sub District Hospital, RS Pura, where after getting conducted postmortem, the body was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites.
The deceased’s husband has been arrested and a case FIR No 85 under Section 302 registered against him, the police officer said, adding further investigation into the case is underway.
