RAJOURI, May 30: The police arrested a person along with locally prepared (Desi) liquor in Sunderbani area of district Rajouri today.
Official sources said that during naka in Kangri area, police team of Sunderbani led by PSI Jatinder Sharma and HC Rameshwar Singh signalled a motorcycle without number plate to stop for checking. During checking, 10 litres of illicit liquor was recovered from him which was concealed in a bag in two cans.
On questioning, the man disclosed his name as Parveen Kumar, son of Ranjeet Singh, resident of Kalal Seri in Nowshera .
Accused was immediately arrested while his motorcycle and illicit liquor has been seized. A case FIR No. 41/2023 U/S 48 (a) Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Sunderbani and investigation has been started.
