Man shot dead over minor dispute

JAMMU, Mar 7: A person was allegedly shot dead by her relative over some minor dispute in Miran Sahib area of city outskirts.
According to Inspector Pawan Kumar, SHO, police station Miran Sahib, a verbal duel broke out this evening between two persons namely Karamjeet Singh (27) son of Gurdayal Singh, resident of Phinder and Bhupinder Singh son of Pargat Singh, resident of Phinder, over some minor issue near their residence and in a fit of rage Bhupinder opened fire with his licensed pistol on Karamjeet.
He said a bullet hit the stomach of the Karamjeet and in a pool of blood he was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) by his brother. “Late in the night, the victim succumbed to his injuries. The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for post mortem”, he added.
The officer said that a murder case has been registered in this connection and raids are being conducted to arrest the accused, who is on large.
